About Me
My name is Kally Kedinger-Cecil and I am a mother of a second grader. I grew up in locally in Colfax and attended the public school system from kindergarten to 8th grade at Colfax Elementary School and graduated from Colfax High School. My husband Philip is also a product of our local school system, including Placer Hills (before Sierra Hills was opened) and Weimar Hills. He also graduated from Colfax High.
Following high school, I attended Cabrillo College in Aptos, California and obtained an AA Degree in History. I transferred to California State University of Sacramento and majored with a BA Degree in Environmental Studies and double minored in Government and History. Since graduating, I have established a career in public service and am a Supervising Planner with the Placer County Planning Services Division.
I have a passion for public service and have a strong background and knowledge of public policy creation and implementation. My experience as a Planner has also provided me a background with building relationships in our local communities, as well as interfacing with the public through public meetings. I would be a great member of the Board because I know how to forge relationships and work towards a common goal with people of all backgrounds.
I am running for a position on the Placer Hills Union School District Governing Board because my education and career background as well as my local upbringing can bring a great perspective to the Board. In addition, I want to support our educators and ensure our local students receive the best education they can- not just because my child is student in the District, but also because I acknowledge that the students of today are the citizens of tomorrow. It is our job as parents to be the stewards of our children’s future.
If elected, I would be proud to serve our school and ultimately our community. I look forward to the opportunity to work with other Board members to create a framework to evaluate policies to create a measurable, demonstrable positive impact to our District; as well as to foster honest and open communication to achieve the best outcomes for our students, educators, administrators, and parents.
