Policy Position Overview
As a public employee involved with policy creation and implementation, I understand how local government can impact our lives on a deep level. As someone who also grew up in the area, I also recall times that were less divisive. It’s time to bring a different perspective to the PHUSD Board. Below is my platform.
Education First
Focus on quality education including STEM and the arts
Facts and critical thinking over ideologies and personal politics
Measurable Policy Success
Demonstrate transparency and accountability by showing how qualified policy objectives are being met, and highlighting these actions
Creating policy responsive to parent feedback including the LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan)
Supporting Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)
Considering funding from a variety of sources including PHEF (Placer Hills Education Foundation), grants, and other local community support
Ensuring staff resources are available to support programs
Safety and Wellness
Ensuring the school wellness centers are well-funded and that parents are aware of the services provided
Support policies that are focused on the recognition and importance of student mental health
